Convento - fortaleza introvertida abrindo-se cuidadosamente para pátios interiores donde lhe vem a luz, a paz, o verde, a segurança.
A presença para as ruas é reduzida à sua expressão mais simples. Parede cega que ondula para formar a cruz simbólica ou se arrenda em grelha que apenas textura a superfície. A entrada é inequívoca, primordial.
Por dentro tudo é, também, função da luz e da passagem controlada do ar que refresca e se ensombra. A diferença entre o exterior, a galeria e o interior é propositadamente ambígua e favorece a frescura no tempo quente e a penetração do Sol no tempo mais fresco.
Os jardins, minúsculos, serão um modesto espectáculo do teatro das flores, dos arbustos, do verde.
A natureza dos espaços das celas, das galerias com os seus nichos, da capela abobadada, provém do médioevo mas é realizada estritamente com os nossos meios mais comuns, mais simplesmente aprendidos.

The presence to the street is reduced to its most simple expression. Blind wall that undulates to shape the symbolic cross or shapes itself to a grid that only textures the surface. The entrance is primordial and unequivocal.
On the inside everything is, also, function of the light and the passage of air that refreshes and shadows itself. The difference between the interior, the gallery and the interior is ambiguous on purpose and favors coolness in the summer and the penetration of the Sun in winter.
The gardens, small, are a modest show of flowers, bushes, of the green.
The spatial nature of the cells, the galleries, its niches and the vaulted chapel are rooted in the middle ages but realized, here, strictly with our most available and common means, learned in the simplest ways.
