Uma nova feira agricola, industrial e comercial em maputo.
Num terreno já fora de periferia do Maputo, grande pavilhão de exposições é complementado com um edificio de escritórios, estacionamento para 2.500 carros e outros serviços e arranjos exteriores.
O pavilhão de exposições, convénios e desportos é um monovolume em forma de nave com um vão de 40 metros resolvido com uma estrutura em abobada formada por elementos em madeira laminada interligados e dimensionados para fácil transporte e assentamento.
A secção vertical do pavilhão responde às necessidades expositivas e de iluminação e ventilação naturais, desenfumagem e resistência ao fogo.
Estéticamente a criação de duas geometrias, curva e plana, cria uma profundidade altamente expressiva de toda a presença da cobertura.
Dentro do grande volume da nave destaca-se a presença dos auditórios e do restaurante integrados na galleria de circulação e exposição periférica.
A presença externa do pavilhão tira partido das grande projecções da cobertura para se aligeirar e acentuar a transparencia do edificio restituindo-lhe a escala humana.
A new agricultural, industrial and commercial pavilion in Maputo
On a site already out of Maputo’s periphery, the great showroom pavilion is complemented with an office building, parking for 2.500 cars and other services and ground works.
The exhibition, conferences and sports pavilion is resolved as a single volume in the form of a great 40 metres span vault formed by laminated timber interconnected elements dimensioned for easy transportation and assembly.
Its transversal section answers functional requisites, the need for natural light and ventilation and fire risk.
Aesthetically the creation of two geometries, the curved and the planar produces a highly expressive depth of the whole roofing structure.
Inside the great nave volume the presence of the restaurant and the auditoria articulate with the peripheral gallery.
The external presence of the pavilion takes advantage of the very generous roof overhangs to lighten it and accentuate its transparency, recuperating the human scale.
